DJ Shadow, the legendary California-based DJ and producer, recently smashed Kansas City with a two-hour set at the Madrid Theatre. The show was a career-spanning journey. Jesse is the keyboardist for Rachel Mallin and The Wild Type and records solo, ambient music as Sinple. His latest release is the album Music For Machines. I caught up with Jesse after his set with Rachel Mallin and The Wild Type, playing a sold out show at RecordBar with the Greeting Committee. We discussed his approach to solo recording, inspiration behind the album and passion for ambient music.
