Four Questions with
Skye Sweetnam

Skye Sweetnam is a sixteen year old singer/songwriter from Bolton, Ontario. Her debut album, “Noise From the Basement,” will be released in September. Sweetnam opened some dates for Britney Spears on her European tour, and her first single, “Tangled Up in Me,” is doing well on the Billboard charts. Skye recently took some time to discuss No Doubt, advice and Sharpie fights.

What’s the craziest thing that’s happened to you on the road?
Well we’ve had motor breakdowns, been caught in huge T storms, tubed down rivers, but what gets really crazy are the Sharpie wars with my band where we write on the face of whomever is asleep. Muah hahaha!

Now that Britney’s tour has been cancelled, what are your touring plans?
I’m on a promo tour right now in the States. It’s mostly radio, TV. and special performances.

If you could tour with any artist/band, who would it be and why?
I could never choose! Well, No Doubt would be pretty cool. I love female fronted rock bands.

Do you have any advice for aspiring singer/songwriters?
Yes! Work work work! Don’t give up and follow your dreams. Make sure your heart is in the music because all the fame and fortune will fade away. Believe, believe, believe! And sing your heart out!
